Coffee Shop Bingo is a fun way to incorporate a bit of fun and people watching into your next coffee shop stop! Very reminiscent of the traveling game known as “I Spy” this ‘fun-tastic’ Bingo game offers an innovative new way to exercise your brain while sipping your daily dose of Coffee Shop Indulgence.
The Birth of a Coffee and Bingo Idea
The local coffee shop is bustling, as it is every single day in America’s Coffee Shop Culture. Hundreds of Americans start their day with a ‘cup of joe’. Designer Coffee shops have in fact become a standard meet and greet in a fast-paced and modern landscape of Coffee lovers across America, whether on their way to the office, meeting with friends, or hitting the Wi-Fi spot to finish up some work on the run. Lisa Christine, former pre-school teacher was inspired by the idea when she made a mental note of all of the observations made by she and friends while they relaxed over coffee.
Christine recalls that they would count the number of patrons wearing hats, holding mp3 players with earphones, sipping latte behind laptop screens, and other such identifiers. She designed ‘Coffee Shop Bingo’ based on this informal manner in which she and her friends made use of coffee hour to people watch. Christine felt that coffee is so much a part of American’s daily routine – citing that Americans consume around 400 million cups of coffee per day – that ‘Coffee Shop Bingo’ would appeal to thousands of people that need an amusing outlet.
How to Get Started with Coffee Shop Bingo
Christine initially set up a website for the ‘Coffee Shop Bingo’ just a few months ago. Bingo cards are available in sets of 25 cards that feature pictures of what items or actions coffee lovers should be looking for as they wait for the barista to bring them a double-espresso. Each card consists of 25 assorted Coffee Shop Bingo pictures to be on the lookout for. Cards can be downloaded in sets of 25 for $5.50, payable through PayPal.
The Bingo cards are set-up as standard Bingo cards with 5 images down and 5 across with a ‘free’ space in the center to imagine your own ‘image’ to identify. Customers will check off the items as they encounter them, including such things as patrons wearing pajamas, wearing sunglasses inside, accompanied by a crying child, and many more. Customers are already making requests for special ‘seasonal’ items and ‘local’ pictures to ensure variety and challenge.
